First of all, traveling broadens your horizons and changes you from the inside out. It shifts your life, your attitude towards it, and even your priorities and values. Only while traveling can you truly find yourself, understand what you really want, what kind of environment you want to live in, and what kind of people you want around. Traveling is a reset!
Cultural diversity
Getting to know the culture and locals of a new country is an unforgettable experience! And every time I travel, I realize how much I love people. When the world around you becomes monotonous, your brain stops bothering to absorb new information. But as soon as the scenery changes, your mind starts working differently.
Breaking routine
Traveling allows you to break out of your routine. It helps you unwind, relax, or even refresh and reboot. During trips, we become calmer and begin to see the world from a different angle. Maybe the boost won’t last forever, but the emotions you get are totally worth it. Life in a big city runs at such a crazy pace that it leaves no time for actual living! We’re always rushing, speeding through traffic – days pass like this, one after another. So when do we actually live? While traveling, you instantly feel alive, filled with new emotions, like you’re waking up and finally taking in the world around you.
Comfort, climate, and food are also key points when traveling. Trips give you the chance to relax and recharge, so extreme adventures aren’t for everyone – some prefer to enjoy those places just through pictures.
Where Should You Start Traveling?
I know many of you are already travelers. And even more of you dream of exploring the world but haven’t had the chance to visit many places yet. I decided to share a list of countries you should start with to get to know the world.
Just a heads-up, you won’t find places like Bali or Iceland on this list! If you start with them, you might hit travel burnout pretty quickly. So, let’s start with something simpler and build up from there.
Montenegro
Think of it as a mini-version of Austria, Italy, and Switzerland, but without needing a visa. It has mountains, lakes (not quite Canadian, but still), and small, charming bays. There are towns with traditional European architecture. It may not be the most beautiful country in the world, but it has all the best bits of Europe.
Turkey
Skip the overdone resorts and head to Cappadocia or the Black Sea region. The former will leave you in awe, while the latter will surprise you with how fresh, green, and wild Turkey can be – a world away from Egypt’s bland beach resorts.
Armenia
Super affordable! Extremely budget-friendly, with tons of beautiful historical sites, hospitable people, and incredibly delicious food. Plus, the people there are strikingly good-looking, with a fiery temperament.
Greece
Everyone has to see Mykonos and Santorini at least once. These are some of the most photogenic places, with surreal seas and a unique vibe. The visa is easy to get, and the flights aren’t too long. It’s a great choice for beginner travelers.
Italy
I love the energy of this country – its culture, food, and of course, its people. They’re fiery, welcoming, smiley, and always full of sunshine.
America
Here, complete strangers can come up to you on the street and give you a compliment. They aren’t shy about making your day with a kind word like, “Wow, your blouse looks amazing today!” You might feel a bit awkward, but it’s incredibly nice at the same time.
And remember, it’s not about the destination. The most important thing is to start traveling.
Enjoy your next trip!
